Swim Diapers

The following swim diapers are the only brands/styles approved for use during lessons due to their fabric's antimicrobial properties and proven leak protection. Any children not yet potty trained must wear two layers of reusable swim diapers. Happy Nappy Duo & Jammer Duo is all in one, as it comes with a second silver liner inside. Happy Nappy Originals will require a separate purchase of a silver liner for 2 layer protection. Green Sprouts iplay. Eco Snap with Gussets and Green Sprouts Eco Pull-Ups are also approved for use with 2 layers. Infants & Toddlers should not wear tops or rash guards during lessons. Bathing suits for little girls are fine as long as they are a one piece and snug-fitting without ruffles or bows around the neck. 

Pool Toys and Floats

These toys and floats are ideal for little ones, as they do not interfere with the development of self-rescue skills. The floats feature a solid bottom, preventing the child’s feet from dangling in the water. This reduces the chance of the child being in a vertical position, which is key to maintaining their self-rescue skills.

Life Jackets & Vests

A properly fitting, Coast Guard Approved life jacket should always be worn when on a watercraft. While I cannot officially endorse a specific brand, it is essential to choose a life jacket that fits your child securely and comfortably. A high-quality life jacket should be able to turn an unconscious child face-up in the water  automatically. Based on the experience of local ISR instructors, HyperLite and Liquid Force brands have consistently performed well. Below are options from both brands, categorized by weight. These life jackets are also available at Sun + Ski in Webster, TX. I’m happy to test any brand of life jacket on your child to ensure it meets safety expectations.
